In August 2013, a 1 in 50 million two-tone lobster was discovered by fishermen near Maine.
The rare lobster is half orange and half brown. When fishermen noticed the unusual lobster, they decided to donate it to the Gulf of Marine Research Institute.
Only albino lobsters are considered rarer than this two-toned variety.
According to Yahoo! News:
Research Institute spokesman Steven Profaizer says it’s being kept in a tank used by the LabVenture education experience. For the program, the institute transports about 10,000 students each year.
